Conveniently located in old town near all the shops, wineries, and restaurants. The rooms are clean and fresh and renovated without losing their charm. The receptionist was very friendly and kinda weird, but in a good way. The beds were freshly made and everything in the room was super clean. Their little coffee station next to the ice machine is the amenity i didnt know i needed.

Extremely happy with this property! My room was obviously recently renovated with modern designs, awesome shower, wonderful bedding, and absolutely spotless! Faux wood flooring, so there's no questionable carpet to worry about; Love that! There was a mini fridge, microwave, and room safe as well. No in-room coffee maker, but right outside my room in the vending room by the courtyard they have the fanciest Starbucks-branded automatic brewing machine I have ever seen! (Photo included). The location is fantastic, as you can walk to ALL the historic downtown shops and restaurants. Large free parking lot in the back. I loved the courtyard with tables, chairs, benches, and grill. I really enjoyed this place!

Than you so much. We had a great time and will definitely stay again. We are local to Phoenix and came up to ride our bikes for a couple days. The hotel was newly remodeled and clean. I found the bed comfortable and the a/c nice and cold. The little business center with coffee and ice was well stocked and the coffee tasted great. The machine gives multiple options for coffee, i.e decaf and different roasts. We checked in around 7pm and it wasn't an issue. The office is open until 10. Everyone we worked with was friendly and knowledgeable. The staff went out of their way to help us when we had a personal issue and directed us to somewhere that could help. We were never meant to feel like we were an inconvenience and we truly felt valued as guests. The walkability of the town is really nice and everything in the town is new and vibrant. I really loved it.

We stayed 2 nights and will never, ever go back. We thought we would give it a try from having read the reviews. We will return to the Tavern Hotel the next time we visit Old Town Cottonwood. It is much cleaner with real amenities and professional staff. Our first assigned "large" room was upstairs. We found a dark, dangerous stairway with steep step risers and narrow step treads. There was no way we could carry our luggage up those awkward steps with a dingy light at the top. The immature desk person rudely announced that we had taken the last room. After describing the problem with the stairway and that I nor my husband were going up and down those steps for 2 days, she "found" us a smaller room for the same price next to the "coffee room." Instead of Starbucks in our room, as we had anticipated, we made it single cup style in the small coffee room, euphemistically described as the "Guest Services Room." We had several problems that needed attending to, but the "supervisor" could never be found or simply didn't respond. We asked for a discount at the end of our stay, but received no consideration. This place is overpriced and amenities exaggerated. I have read the highly rated reviews in disbelief, and wonder if they were staying at the same place.

I would say about 2.5 hours. You could take a pretty trip north on 89A through Sedona to Flagstaff to see Red Rock on the drive too!
