My husband is bipolar and is taking Zoloft and no other meds. Dr. Kim’s office staff ( the lady who answers the phone) is very unprofessional and was unwilling to schedule an appointment without a referral. For $445 cash price you should be able to see someone without a referral. That is a total rip off and poor example of someone who is supposed to be helping people. I have never met Dr. Kim and obviously never will, but the front office lady is someone that is not willing to help. I also work in the medical field as does my husband and I am sad that some in the medical society care more about money than about helping people in need. S

Dr. Kim helped my husband get on the right meds for his bipolar at the right dosage. 6 months after starting to see Dr. Kim, he was like a new man, the man I used to know and love. This might have saved our marriage, his life, and has just brought so much healing and hope to our lives. We HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kim. She is patient and understanding and takes her time to listen to you. She allowed me to join my husband to share details and my perspective. She helped us get on the right meds and dosage ASAP and manage the side effects.

I have been going to Dr. Kim for almost two years. She listens and has helped me stay balanced with my mental health. I am very much thankful for her knowledge and skills.

A few weeks back I messaged them twice, but eventually had to call and leave a message to set up an appointment. She called back and told me that I needed to contact my other Dr's office for a referral. She was supposed to call back later in the afternoon. She forgot and I had to call back. I confirmed everything I had to do - wrote down date an time -she mentioned how long consultations took, and method of payment, and she set up the appointment. Fast forward to today, I have my appointment, but I didn't get a reminder, so I call an hour before I leave, again no one answers, so I leave for the office. About 10 minutes out I get a call, and she has no idea that there was an appointment. So not only did I take time off, drive an hour into Dallas, but I did it all for nothing. Filled out paperwork, went through other Dr's office fax routine, took time off, drove the hour there and eventually hour back and all for nothing. It was a pain reaching out and setting up an appointment, and don't expect to call and talk to anyone, and then realize they may lose the appointment, not worth the trouble.

These are great questions. In general, I believe that each person is unique in biology, genetics, upbringing, family of origin, and life circumstances, and it would be difficult to make any predictions without a thorough evaluation. Please feel free to call my office to make a consultation.
Thank you for contacting us. Dr. Kim mainly provides supportive therapy and medication management, and refers out for more frequent psychotherapy such as cognitive-behavioral therapy. This office sees patients 15 years and older.
