AMAZING experience! I was confused on how to do my fingerprinting and they explained everything step by step! They went out of their way to look for extra information and clear up any confusion I had. No waiting in line, no appointments, no frills. Excellent service, I would definitely recommend!

I was searching all over the Philadelphia, PA area for a place to get my fingerprints done. Finally, someone gave me the phone number for the state police who gave the phone number for Rosa Photo and Fingerprinting. I called their phone number and Robert answered and he was so very helpful and friendly and told me everything that I needed to know and to do to get my fingerprints done. When I got down there, I was met by Barbara who was also super nice and friendly and very efficient, and she did an outstanding and amazing job of fingerprinting me. After I left with my fingerprint cards in hand, I called Robert to say that I really appreciated the excellent customer service that I received today from Barbara. I would highly recommend this place! It is by far the best of fingerprinting services that I have ever had in my entire life! I will return when I am in need of more fingerprinting services!

Questions & Answers

Do you provide notary services?

Kevin Moyer | Oct 5, 2021
Rosa Photo and Fingerprinting | Oct 5, 2021

Good evening, and thank you for your recent inquiry. We do not provide notary services in light of the fact that there is no place on ANY fingerprint card for the notarization of anyone's signature. If you have docs that need notarization, we warmly recommend our friends at TDBank (all branches in PA), where notarization is always free, even if you don't have a bank account there. But please do visit us for your fingerprinting and photography needs! And stay well and safe!

I am in a wheelchair and need to get fingerprints done so I am wondering if the place accommodates disabled individuals?

We try to help everyone! If we have a client who visits our van in a wheelchair, we will bring all of our fingerprint equipment out of our van, and then fingerprint the client on the street or sidewalk. Of course, if it's raining or snowing, or too cold outside, there might be some practical problems, but we'll do our best. With all respect to the person posing the question, and the person who at first innocently answered incorrectly, these matters are much better handled with an old-fashioned phone call to us at 215.432.5158. We answer from 7am to midnight, even though we are open to the public from 8 to 5 (weekdays) plus 12 noon to 5 on Saturdays. Have a great day!

I need fingerprints for a background check, Also I need it on hard stock is it the same price? and also, are they ink or digital?

Tim Gill | Oct 6, 2018
Rosa Photo and Fingerprinting | Oct 6, 2018

Good afternoon! Fingerprints prepared on a "hard card," otherwise known as an FBI card FD-258, always use fingerprinting ink. This is our speciality, and although we charge $20 to fully prepare a fingerprint card, the card itself is free. Live scan uses neither cards nor ink.

How much is it to get your finger prints done and do you get them back the same day

Chikia Matthews | Oct 6, 2018
Rosa Photo and Fingerprinting | Oct 6, 2019

Thank you for the inquiry! We actually have two different prices for FBI fingerprinting: if you are being fingerprinted to work in Pennsylvania with children or the elderly, then we offer a reduced price of $15, because we feel bad for you that you will also have to pay $22.60 to a company called Identogo, with which you have to be registered pursuant to Pennsylvania law. (You can register yourself, or we will register you as a courtesy when you visit us.) The normal price of fingerprinting is $20. All prices include taxes. For payment, we take cash, checks and money orders, but no debit/credit cards (sorry). When we fingerprint you, you get the finished fingerprint card immediately. The whole process normally takes between 10 and 20 minutes.

Do you need to make appointment

Tonia Lynn Kersey | Oct 5, 2020
Rosa Photo and Fingerprinting | Oct 5, 2020

Good morning from Robert, the owner-- yes, between 10 and 4, it can get busy, and so fingerprinting which should take 10 minutes might end up taking closer to 20. If you'd like an appointment for a specific time, then just call us at 215.432.5158. Have a great day!

From n.j, speedline what stop do I get off at?

Catherine Ross | Oct 6, 2018
Rosa Photo and Fingerprinting | Oct 6, 2018

Please use the PATCO station at 15th-16th Stree in Center City Philadelphia. When you exit the train station at the corner of 16th and Locust Streets, you can then take the Number 2 SEPTA bus, which runs on 16th Street (northbound), and you should get off at our corner, at Callowhill Street, and then walk 50 feet east (towards 15th Street) until you reach the Rosa Photo-and-Fingerprint Van, which has been parked at the curb for the last 29 years! (open weekdays, 8-5, Saturdays, 12 noon to 5, no advance appointment needed)

Hi What type ID do I need to bring?

Brian Augustine | Oct 6, 2018
Rosa Photo and Fingerprinting | Oct 6, 2018

Before we fingerprint you, ideally we need to see a current picture ID from any government unit from any country of the world. If needs be, we will consider accepting an expired ID if the picture of you on the ID still looks like you. If the person in need of fingerprinting is too young to have her/his own ID, then we will accept the ID of the adult accompanying the minor, plus proof of the relationship between the child and the adult. For someone with no ID whatsoever (e.g. person recently released from incarceration, an undocumented alien, a person whose documents were recently stolen), we will consider accepting a letter from an attorney, or from someone in the criminal justice system, vouching for the identity of the applicant. Please call in advance if you have a special situation!
