I am at the Assistant Living area as a patient. I am appointed my a court for a guardian. I don't like my guardian and hate this facility. They have mice, and bed bugs at two occasions on my bed and sheets. The food is lousy. The soup doesn't taste right, there are small portions, the milk is warm, I like cold milk with my cereal. They give you everyday for chicken or pork or rice. They have no selections. Most staff is nice. I do not recommend this facility.The grounds are nice. I don't like anything about the atmosphere of this facility. Also, at dinner, they order the food but the food won't come out for a hour or more. You wait sitting around. This place is really disorganized. The sheets are clean but have urine stains all over them. The Executive Office should be doing a better job. I am getting out of this dump. I saw another mouse. We will contact the PA Inspectors. Nasir Johnson moved my room to a another room and dumped my stuff into the hallway. He was so nasty and really bad attitude. Don't live your loved ones here. And, my room hasn't been cleaned in several weeks. What a lousy place.

My mom resided at Sunrise for about 7 years. The aides who managed her care during that time were wonderful people! A lot of the other staff were also caring & helpful. I don’t feel that the administrative, business, medical or nursing care was as attentive as we’d have liked.

My husband was in total care at Sunise of Abington from 2019 until his death in April of 2021. His aids Martine and Q, and many others cared for him like a family member. Nursing staff communicated with me often about Jerry's care and any need for additional care. John, the director always had time to sit down and talk to me and took care of problems quickly. The food was great . Activity were appropriate and I often walked into Sunrise hearing laughter from residents Sunrise of Abington gives all residents a home away from home and a family friendly atmosphere.

My father has been living in the Reminiscence Neighborhood since July of 2020. It was one of the most difficult decisions we ever had to make. The staff at Sunrise helped everyone transition during this difficult time. Amanda, at the front desk, always has a smile on her face and goes out of her way to engage in conversation with my father. She is warm, friendly, and personable. Terrance(TJ) and Karen in the reminiscence neighborhood go above and beyond in taking care of my father. They are attentive, kind, gentle, and hard working. They always have a smile on their face. It means a lot to my family that my father is in good hands with people who actually care about him. I cannot end my review without mentioning the executive director, John, who always promptly responds to my emails even on his days off! Nicole L.
