My counselor conspired with a job coach to completely ruin my life. Guess what? They succeeded

I have been with the DOR for a year now. Every time I speak with them they are extremely helpful. There is never any tone of judgment, and when asked questions about paperwork and programs they are very patient. When paperwork does need to be submitted, I am always reminded in advance. It has been great working with them.

I have been working with this place for over 2 years with zero results. I have a documented disability and want to work so i went here. First off I was told they were not going to pay for me to go back to college and posibly get a degree. So they refered me to one of their so called "Venders". They basically have pushed me out into a crumy job market with absolutly no training, experience, and threaten to close my case due to not being able to find work. There seriously needs to be something done about this place, I havent worked for an extended amount of time and they all of a sudden expect me to land a job... Right. Avoid this place like the plague and dont waste your time. Only pros i can think of is they helped me get back on disability. Cons, No training or help with employment, threats of dropping your case due to not finding work, and too many more to name.

What is the process for getting help

The process is 1. They psych test you. 2. If you have a documented disability then make sure to bring paper work. 3. It has been a while since I've been there I will admit but it does take a little while for them to analyze your psych test to see where you best fit. There are multiple style disabilities there are high function disabilities and low function disabilities if you're a high-functioning disability like I am the help is a lot different than if you were a low-functioning disability. If you're high functioning disability you will go into options of Family Services which they will help you out with jobs and stuff it's mostly just searching for jobs you have to do most of the footwork basically. Low-functioning they'll either send you two options and they'll employ you with one of their vendors or they will send you to NCI it's basically a case-by-case scenario. I do hope this helps you out. Be prepared when doing a psych test it does take roughly six hours to do
