Unfortunately I just called looking for advice and or help for a friend that was in need. The person I spoke with basically stated that they didn't provide the type of help I am looking for and to call 211 and hung up the phone. I was not looking for all the answers with 1 phone call....but a little understanding, empathy and a few suggestions who have gone a long way...especially when that is what you advertise!

"Atmosphere" is calm but the staff is partial. Unprofessional especially the Manager. They have their picks. Drinking on premises to point of vomiting still client allowed to stay. I was informed father passing on May 11 informed Tammy shelter mgr had to go to Florida he was passing she denied me saying no proof. Then said was calling her supervisor to ask. Said supervisor stated same thing. If I left I would be exited. MY FATHER DID PASS. SHE contacted my section 8 case manager stated I just left... LIED. SHE AFTER a month continues to sabotage me and my life and trying to get a place. She has ice I get veins very poisonous a liar unapproachable. It is ashamed no one to turn to about her abusing her power etc etc.

This is a domestic abuse shelter.
Melissa. If you go there, professionals will help you out and advise on how to move forward with your life. They have shelter, but not at the same building. I can assure you what ever you are going through you are not alone. People in Hope's are friendly and understanding. Dealing with all sort of situations daily. Just go there and talk to someone. Nikky is wonderful psychologist, she listens, builds confidence and Nalia has wonderful programs helping you to reestablish yourself. This is all said from my personal experience with them. Dont be hesitant, just get there.
Hi Lisa. Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm happy that you found us. Please call out 24-hour hotline to speak to an advocate about how to receive any of our free services, including our shelters. The hotline number is 972-276-0057 and advocates at our shelters answer anytime, day or night. You can also learn about our free services at hdnbc.org. Just click the "Get Help" tab.
No, Hope's Door will not prevent you from working. Hope's Door is a nonprofit organization that provides services for families affected by Domestic Violence.
Hi! We're a domestic abuse agency serving victims of intimate partner or family violence. During intake, we conduct a lethality assessment to determine the level of danger a potential client is in. Our counselors can then work with clients to evaluate their mental health and assess their needs. Thanks!
Please bring donations between 11am – 4pm, Tuesday – Saturday to our Resale Store in Plano (2129 W. Parker Rd.). Ring the bell next to the purple door on the side of the building and one of our volunteers or employees will be happy to help you. I would also suggest that you call ahead (972-769-0610) to make sure that they have the staff and space to accept the donations you will be bringing. Thanks!
Hi Kari! Thank you for reaching out. Our Resale Store is taking donations of gently used items. We are also accepting donations of toiletries and other daily needs at our Outreach Center. Hi Jojo, Thank you for your question. Please call our 24-Hour Hotline at 972-276-0057. It is answered by training advocates that can answer any of your specific questions.
