Great spot for camping, swimming, kayak/canoe rentals, etc! Bit of a hilly walk to the beach from the campground. Lots of shaded picnic areas and changing rooms at the beach. Rentals are $3 and hour for kayaks and the boats are already down by the water, no need to haul. Firewood available at gate for $6 a bundle. Minimal bugs. A perfect summer spot!

Our campsite was big and clean. There is a picnic table and fire area to use. They also sell firewood at the gate for $6 a bundle. We had a wonderful weekend the kids loved exploring the woods and swimming.

Been going there since childhood. Great place to go with the family for picnics and to camp. Most recently the wife and I have been going to the park for day use so that we can kayak from there. Very little boat traffic and plenty of places to stop on shore and picnic.

This park is one of my favorite park in Maine. I went around 1:00pm it was not crowded , the entrance fee is $5 per person , the restrooms area are SO clean. The park itself is well maintained, lots of great views and space to spend a relaxing time. The beach is rocky but it has an area where you can walk on sand. The water was not too cold they also offer kayaks and please do the trails are well marked and you will have an amazing experience!

Yes they do. There were quite a few. Only a few have water and electric hookups. You can run your generator though from 8am-8pm.. Dump station. No sewer hookups. And as the last person said, there is a pull through site as well. I have a 25ft trailer and the end flops out, making it about 30ft long and there are many sites that I could fit in easy. It's a great place.
Clear water and you can walk all the way out to the markers. Decent fishing too, if that's your thing
To the best of my knowledge all Maine State parks take Debit, Credit, or cash.
Yes you can online. Or you can look at a map and reserve a site right there. If youd like to online the website is https://www.maine.gov/cgi-bin/online/doc/parksearch/index.pl?search_radio=1&state_park=20&historic_site=&public_reserved_land=&shared_use_trails=&town=&distance=&submit=Go+%BB
Dogs are not allowed on the beach. But there are access points on the sides where dogs can go in the water.
Where it's a state park I'm not sure.
I would say yes. I've seen small and large getherings on the beach.
There's handicapped parking at the main car park and then a walkway till you get to the grass or sand areas. You also have the trails off the main car park as well.
You can definitely snowshoe but you have to go in from the gate, its closed in the winter. I think you can find a map online.
The day-use are closes at sunset, the main entrance gate for campers closes at 10pm
$5 for anyone over 11 and $1 for ages 6-11 and age 5 and under free.
https://www1.maine.gov/dacf/parks/camping/campground_maps.shtml This link has the campground maps. There are five or 6 sites with water and electricity
Season is May 15 to Oct 01. #207-564-2003 Off season tel# 207-941-4014
Not free, but does have a beautiful sheltered area for family gatherings
Camping fees vary some depending on location. Camping at Peaks-Kenney is $20/night for a Maine resident ($10/night more for non)
Yes, but nothing with a motor. Canoe/kayak only at the state park.
Yes in designated areas
Yes.
I don't believe there is a group camping site in the main camping area. Some sites cannot be reserved, so be sure and download the site map then, reserve sites that are near each other. The area down by the beach may have group camping but I don't know for sure.
It is a great place to hang out at a beach or go kayaking. We take our tiny kids to the beach there, they love to play in the sand and the water is fairly shallow and calm enough for them to enjoy it. It has picnic areas and BBQs available for use. It seems to always be clean and l have never found anything that I would be afraid for my kids.
