Patrick and his incredible band of folks at the Center Theater were so kind and accommodating when I visited with my improv troupe, Capital City Improv. A great audience base and good vibes! I highly recommend the Center for movies, theater, and more!

Elora began her journey with this Theatre when she was just 7 yrs old. During her 8 year journey, she was blessed with forever friends and some of her fondest memories. During those years, she learned important life lessons about commitment, community service, and the joy of participating in a family-like environment. She learned the taste (and smell) of THE BEST popcorn, and how to perform on a live stage. Though the stages and audiences Elora now performs for are much larger - they will never be better than this theatreβs - because the magic and closeness such a local jewel π fosters simply canβt be beat. The area is blessed to have such a gift: the great selection of affordable movies, the variety of fantastic local family-friendly shows, and the best fresh popped popcorn and refreshments - all housed in a beautiful space. We miss you, Center Theatre!!

I'm not sure the people of Dover-Foxcroft and the surrounding area realize what a gem they have in the Center Theater. As one of the centerpieces of "downtown", the exterior has been kept up nicely over the years and inside it's clean with a very friendly, helpful staff. Ticket prices are very reasonable, and there is almost always a family-friendly film being shown. The theater is very involved in the community, making itself available for political groups, school activities, church groups, etc. And how fun is it to read the personal messages on the marquee going by?! Thank you Center Theater and Patrick Meyers for being such an integral part of this small Maine town!

My kids and I have been attending events and movies here for more than a dozen years. This is also where my kids have volunteered and learned about customer service and how to run a cash register and make change. The theatre is always conscious about health and safety in a way that makes me confident to put my children in their capable hands. Prices for movies and shows are great! $2 Tuesday can NOT be beat... A true community organization.

Yes, I would also like to know if the movie 'I Can Only Imagine' will play there.
Aquaman! Jose at 2 and 7 same tomorrow and Monday, Tuesday 7. The rest of the schedule is on Center Theatre. Org
At this point I don't think so. We couldn't get it earlier and our schedule is set through mid October.
Every show has open auditions a few months before the show starts. You can keep an eye on our Facebook page or website for announcements, or if you want to message me with your email address I can add you to the mailing list so you'll get all the announcements. You don't need to prepare anything for the auditions, you'll just come and read a scene from the play with other people who are there for the auditions.
Yes indeed. Mayo Regional Hospital is sponsoring a free showing of the movie Elf at 3 on Saturday. Popcorn and water are free too.
We hope so! We won't know for sure for a couple weeks though. Stay tuned to the Center theater website and Facebook page :-)
