Quick high inclined hike!!! Love the views as you head on up! They open the gates at 8am, so recommend getting there right as they open up as it can get crowded later in the day. Not much space at the top, so early bird gets the scenic view shot!

I was surprised that the hike was pretty easy despite the elevation gain. Probably due to the 53 switchbacks. The trail was well maintained. The scenes of the Columbia River Gorge are beautiful, also included Bonneville Dam off in the distance. The only downside is there is very limited space once you reached the top.

29mar2022 ~50s_F ~14:00 arrived at the Beacon Rock Trailhead parking - ~8 vehicles parked, and ~6 mores lots available. The Beacon Rock Trail: its rocks, small patches of cement paving, concrete platform bridges, and wooden bridges - with Guard-Rails. Its Grade is: "gentle -to- moderate" . And the Trail seemed well-maintained and in good condition. Great views of the Columbia River, Hamilton Mountain, and the surroundings. During my ~1.5 hours on the Trail, i encountered a total of ~12 people: ranging from the 2 young children (probably, ~5 yo) -to- the Old-is-Gold. Everyone was courteous, cheery, friendly, careful and safe 👍 Happy Trails Everyone. And Be Safe 😊 Stats: Distance R/T 1.1 mile / Total Time: 1:25 / Ascent: 536 (555) ft

Trail is good but lots of loose rocks and powdery stuff that makes it somewhat slick on the descent. About a mile of hiking to the top, easy even for smaller pets. One of the few crowded trails you can take your pet on a leash. The views are great, it wasn’t sunny when I went there. Tons of switchbacks to the top. Space is narrow on the trail, especially during crowded days. I went on a Friday to avoid crowds. Saw a few seniors and they were managing well.
