Not sure who MoDot has plow the roads in Nixa, but they tore up my front yard. Appreciate that.

Thanks to all the employees of the Missouri departments that worked diligently to keep our roads passable. Your perseverance to keep up with mother nature is greatly appreciated. Plow boys, personal contractors, police departments, and all who helped.

The traffic signal at Route 60 and Washington Street was installed with a larger US 60 improvement project more than 20 years ago. At that time, Washington St. met MoDOT’s criteria for a signal. There were a couple of businesses on the north side of the intersection that generated quite a bit of traffic. When Casey’s Convenience store moved and the bank relocated, traffic volumes dropped off significantly. The cost for installing a new signal is significant. This is funding we currently do not have. Even if we assume we could salvage the signal equipment from Washington and move it to Rt. 14, the cost to install new islands and footings, wiring and conduit and reinstall the signal equipment would still be significant
