We saw both white deer and brown. Plus the narrative tells about the military history of Samson. This war time effort was incredible.

Hi Gregory, great question! While that was the case all my years growing up as a child, I think you can safely say that the Finger Lakes Region is no longer on Russia's nuclear target list. When the Cold War ended, the need for large stockpiles of weapons and munition was thought to be no longer necessary. The Seneca Army Depot was decommissioned in 1995, and by the year 2000, the Army had completely moved all weapons and major armament/equipment from the Romulus site to other storage facilities around the country. In the early 2000's the government began turning property back over to the Seneca County IDA who began selling and leasing portions of the property. Today, the property is about 80% privately owned. A county public safety facility, and maximum security prison (Five Points) occupies the rest. Deer Haven Park is actually located within the boundaries of the former Depot. More than 3,000 acres (of the Depot's original 10,587 acres) is now home to Deer Haven Park.
