My favorite local destination for early morning hiking. Late afternoon's are great for bringing groups to enjoy feeding the wild burrows.

Awesome place to see horses and donkeys - just drive around the side and there they are! super cool place.

For a rescue trying to place wild horses and burros, you'd think they'd bother to have SOME information on the ones available. They don't. You can find some info on the BLM site for online auction and some on their other sales, but zip city regarding the animals at Ridgecrest.

You can go look at the horses from outside the pens, but the facility doesn't open for visitors until 7 AM on Friday.
I believe so! You just have to fill out some papers or something. Not sure about the cost
People stop by and feed the mustangs and burros at various times when the facility is closed. The outside fences face open BLM land and the public does come by to spoil them with carrots and apple slices whenever possible.
You can adopt a horse or Burrough from the office near the road in front of the stables. They dont sell snacks for feeding 👌
