This review is for the Black River Trail. We did the whole 4.4 miles with totals to 8.8 going up and then back. Nice parking at the trail heads. The pavement is in good condition and very little elevation change. Several stops to get of the trail and enjoy the river. The only problem is that it is not long enough. The town of Watertown should really try to extend this nice trail.

I live a block away and ride the trail most days after work. I never see cars parked overnight. Not sure of the legality though. There are no signs saying you can't park overnight. You can park in my driveway overnight if ya want... Idc. Lol

Yes, With Limited concrete picnic tables, first come. There are more beyond the trial on Huntington st. There's a pull off just above the dam (Kayak putin) with four tables and fire grills, the fishing there is poor because it is very shallow, with a kayak or small boat up river is some fine fishing I've pulled the largest smallmouth i ever caught there at 17 inches. Center of Black River village is poors island with un improved trails throughout. Near the entrance is the ruins of a mill that has picnic tables and grills. I like this place because it has a canopy of trees that shades your activities. There is a little Known Kayak put in there as well, because of the dam situation it among the commonest part of Black River. Fishing on poors island is best near the upper dam, opposite end of island. The Black River Trial does not end at the exit the old tressel run continues beyond the trial end. the next section is not improved it's a gravel bed that go's through Great Bend and beyond.
