Nice area, nice bank area for several people. Needs better bathroom option. And some sort of shelter would be nice.

Gem of an area to bird. Visited yesterday for first time to see Red-throated Loon. Common Loon present as well along with a diversity of other waterfowl. 70 acre lake, previous quarry, completely surrounded by vegetation. Next time will walk more of property. Informative naturalist happen to be present so heard of other water areas to explore. There is gate at end of gravel road but able to continue on foot.

Who knew we have such a beautiful lake just seconds off 52?!? Half a block west of Schuyler, take the very first exit, and you're there. No amenities, just the lake...with boat entries. Two wonderful little islands in the middle. If you're looking for that secluded spot in town (!), Go to Bicentennial Nature Area.

Questions & Answers

is there a covered shelter in the park where you can sit and talk?

No. There are benches to sit at, but no covered sheltered.

Why is this place catch & release? Is it true that you should never eat fish out of this lake?

There is a land fill way on the other side of the lake I believe. Definitely don't want to eat fish from there.
