Honey you would be better off calling Carriage Town. Either one you choose, you will need to call frequently to get a spot. But I believe your experience at Carriage Town would be more beneficial as far as connecting you to the necessary resources.
Call 1st.

YWCA, One Stop, Shelter of Flint, Family Promise, Genesee Health System Community Housing, Carrage Town Ministries.
Shelter of Flint does allow men but there are specific rules regarding their stay. If you are seeking shelter, you have to call and ask if they have rooms available. At the time of your call, they will explain the rules to you. Good luck!
They have housing assistance, and provide meals, and facilities to clients who are transitioning from there. You must call them to get on the on the log, before you are processed in and given a bed(s) for yourself and your family. *edited note* they have several different housing programs!!! For all kinds of situations!! Don't lose hope!
Yes they do. You have to call and check in daily. It took me at least 30 days before they had room for me.
