I lived here for a year from November 2020 to December 2021. We still have not received our security deposit despite having moved out 9 months ago. I have reached out to the company via email multiple times, and they did not even answer my last one. I have also stopped by the office twice. The first time I was told they were under new management and were running behind. I stopped by 3 weeks later to ask for an estimate on when I would get it back, and was told that they wouldn't give me an estimate, but that I would get the deposit back eventually. That was almost 5 months ago and I haven't heard anything since.

My time at VCR was quite the experience. Nothing in life is perfect, and I walked into this with that in mind. I was also considerate of the fact that the world has changed tremendously in the past few years, and everybody is trying hard to find their own version of normality again. Matt, in the the office, remained a huge help my entire lease. From start to finish, I handled mostly everything through Matt. There were team members who came and went, but Matt never left. His determination to assist in the improvement of VCR, and its resident satisfaction is greatly appreciated. The apartments are nice, but old. They could stand a bit of a deeper, and more thought out renovation. However, if you’re looking for something small and cozy, and don’t need much storage space, the two bedroom apartments might be for you. This is a peaceful complex, in a peaceful area.

This place is a SCAM!!!!!! Maintenance will NEVER come or even respond to you, despite it being a Michigan law they they are obligated to show up and fix nonessential things in a “reasonable” amount of time. I’ve been waiting 6 months, and there’s people in reviews across google, apartments.com, and Facebook who have waited YEARS and NEVER RECEIVED ANYTHING. Furthermore, they constantly try to scare you into overpaying rent and then threaten eviction. There are countless people also across those 3 websites who after years of moving out still haven’t received their deposit back. The apartments and the grounds are grimy and disgusting. This place is a complete scam, do not waste your time or money here!!
