I have never been this dissatisfied with a community I've had to reside in. The management over Lake in the Hills are not here for their residents, instead they are more concerned about penny pinching for any amount of money they can get. Much like the same experience that Cassandra left in a previous review, they increased their "force mow" to $65 per hour ( and will charge you the full $65 even if it only took 20 minutes to mow). They will watch your property and take pictures instead of notifying you when your grass is too high, cut it and add that amount to your rent. They will not leave a note on your door for this, as they do for other things. Maintenence requests are rarely handled in a timely matter. This summer it took several attempts and even to the extent of having to contact someone over this community to have my AC fixed during a heat advisory. There has been instances where I've left multiple voicemails for Missy with no returned call at all. The lack of communication, inconsistency, and unprofessionalism with her makes it extremely hard to live comfortable in this community. The one person that actually seemed to care, Brian, who I mentioned in my original review is no longer employed with Lake in the Hills. Now it feels as though everything is strictly about money rather then having a good relationship with their residents. I would absolutely not recommend this community to anyone again. Original review: Brian in maintenence is great! Very knowledgeable & prompt.

This has been a nightmare. I only have been here since June 19th , 2022. With the promise that the contractor would have everything done. We'll I am still living in boxes and we are on the 2nd contractor who had to put a new roof.the furnaces was not working , I have a toilet on my front porch for over a week, my master bath is all torn up. My air conditioning unit died, and I have been without water several Days and no one is getting back with me

Review Edit: BUYERS BEWARE. Changing my review from 5 starts to 1 star. Ive lived in this community for almost 3 years now and the management and maintenance has really gone down hill this last year. Some new maintenance guys came to do my "gold key check" (annual check to make sure everyones house is okay) and they were rude. Accused my cat of doing damages to blinds on the front of the house even though my cat cant even reach the top of the blinds that are broken (they are breaking from normal use) and said they cant be replaced for free. Also told me that no longer will the water filter for my fridge be replaced for free when it has been previously replaced for free two times before. Brian is the only maintenance person I trust in my home, he cares about the community and always does excellent work. The "force mow" which used to be a service provided to us for a reasonable fee is now $65 each time even though the community manager posted that is is $65 AN HOUR and did not say it starts at $65. She tried to lie to me and say it has always been $65 even though a few weeks ago I was only charged about $12 since it takes the landscaping guys like 5 minutes to mow a lot and they didnt even weed wack it so it is totally unreasonable to be charged $65. This new management is always rude and abrupt when I call about my concerns in the community and with my home and half the time I cant even get ahold of them. Original: Five starts to maintenance for sure. Brian is very attentive and does great work. I've never lived somewhere with as great as maintenance as him! I will say I would have not given five starts if it wasnt for him. The overall park is beautiful and well worth the price of rent but I have had my fair share of tough run ins with the leasing office particularly during my move from one trailer to another. I do recommend the park to my friends and family though.
