We toured a model of the phase two home we were set to move into the next month, and were told it was going to be the same style unit. As we get the keys after signing the lease we discovered there were a few closets and less storage than described. We purposely moved into an ADA unit (which is why we liked redwood) and when we talked about adapting it on the tour, we were told it was absolutely fine no problem! What they neglected to tell us was that it was going to be adapted at our expense and then we would have to pay the contractor again to undo this basic adaption when we left. Not something that would have been an issue but transparency would have been greatly appreciated. Since May we have been living in what Redwood deems “a construction site” and yet they demand per threat of eviction that we move our brand new camper out of our driveway because “it looks bad”. They have a pile of gravel filling our section of guest parking which causes heavy mud when it rains that my spouse slipped and fell in spraining a wrist, pulling muscles and large cuts. From the take over of the parking area for their construction space the entire community has been scolded for parking wherever we can despite the fact that there are no available parking spots. Redwood has not left room for the humanness of apartment living and I’m tremendously disappointed. There have been other interactions that were infuriating and others that were fine… management in the Holt office was polite enough but they offered no assistance or help when we sought to fix the problems we found as we settled in. Whenever we reach out to the office even for the slip and fall we just get reminded that this is an active construction site and of their “policies”. If this is a construction site then no one should be living here. We are paying a disappointingly high amount of money per month to be told (read: threatened) regarding what we can and can’t do as far as parking on the property we are paying for. The whole thing is ludicrous and infuriating. Transparency and upfront discussion during the tour would have solved the majority of these conflicts and despite attempts to first address and then resolve, Redwood has remained unhelpful.

They will tell you any lie or omission they need to in order to get you to sign a lease on these cheap pieces of junk. You can get better living spaces and be treated better for less money elsewhere.

They're apartments. Prices usually start around $1800/mo from what I've seen.
