A rest stop is a rest stop. Nothing special about this one. It was extremely hot out (over 100°), they has vending machines but only soda. Definitely should have water there. When you go inside to use the restroom, the boiling smell of defecation hits you in face like a brick. 3 stars because the outside was maintained very well!

There was one there when I worked for CalTrans in 1980, probably still has one. Many RV's and campers travel through there and it was always in use so my bet is YES. You can call the Blythe CalTrans Maintenance Station or the Blythe CHP Office, I'm sure they will know. If you get really lucky, about once every 10 years they get just the right amount of rain at the right time and a Desert Bloom happens, the entire desert is completely covered with beautiful Wildflowers of every concevable color. I have never seen anything like it, it's unbelievable. I was there everyday since I worked there and it was hard to believe.
