So my house flooded after the clogged up culvert overflowed. I called Servpro of Tupelo to get the ball rolling with what I needed to do to remedy the water that got into the house. Curt was the technician that I talked to. He was friendly and helpful. He told me that it would be $150 to come out and evaluate the situation. I agreed and he came. He talked to me about different options and was very helpful. He said that the company would send me an invoice. A day or two later I received an invoice from the company for $222.64. This is an increase of more than 48%. I emailed the company to tell them that I was quoted $150. They didn’t answer so a couple of days later I emailed again. They answered and said, “That is not correct. We use Xactimate pricing as you can see on the estimate this is the price for an after hours emergency service call. I am sorry for the misinformation, our technicians do not price services.” I feel like they pulled a bait and switch on me. If they told me the higher price initially, I would have been happy to pay it. If you use this company, take care to get something in writing about the price before you have any service performed.
