I really like this public pool. The staff are nice and seldom blow the whistle. The pool is 3 feet deep which is perfect. The place is clean and well organized. Don't bring a big bag, the lockers are very small.
Morning Star
Place is clean and it wasn’t crowded which is a good thing but they are overly strict. You are only allowed to bring a towel and bottle of water into the pool area. No cellphones, yes you read that right not cellphones allowed; also when we got hungry I wasn’t allowed to bring my cooler bag with our sandwiches and drinks to the eating area so I had to return to the locker room take everything out of the bag and carry it without a bag, I almost drop something but made it to the table. Once the clock hits 2:45 pm they start rushing everybody out and start yelling “you only have five minutes to chance” ! Once you are in the lockers trying to get your things out and change they continue yelling and rushing you. Imagine you getting dress while simultaneously changing your kid and someone yelling:You have five minutes “! Not a good experience. They are overstaffed also.

My only frame of reference is from the one time I've been so far, which was a Monday July 5 (a holiday for many). It was definitely crowded but not packed.
It is free and if you have children under 18 they receive free lunch! Just bring a locker for personal belongings. My suggestion just bring towels and keep personals in vehicle. You can always re-enter.
Yes, it's already open.
Its free no deep size
You need to be around 16 to be by urself they don’t ask for any id though but any age lower then that needs a Guardian to watch over them
They open tomorrow. https://www.nycgovparks.org/facilities/outdoor-pools
You must provide your own lock and have everything secure in the locker before entering the water

3 feet
No, Sadly. It opens June 27th
Generally it look a like it closes around Labor Day, but the website says they extended it by a week, so as of now the pool closes September 10, 2017.
