Update: Ownership got back to me right away and is working it out with me, so updating this for the fast response and kindness. tl:dr: I made an verified appointment online, the online appointments are broken and I didn't actually have an appointment in the system and was told while I was standing in the Standard Optical during my appointment that I was just about to be called to be told I didn't actually have an appointment. See full details below. I scheduled an appointment online on March 20th for March 23rd at 3:20pm. I received a confirmation email, make sure my work was covered and on the day of the appointment headed into the Standard Optical. I made sure I arrived at 3:05 so that I was 15 minutes before my appointment as requested. Upon my arrival I was told by the folks at the front desk that they were "just about to call me" and that their online scheduling system doesn't attach to their regular scheduling system and so I apparently didn't have an appointment today (the young lady actually told me "I tell people to call in instead of doing an online appointment" (Well I mean of course you would if that is the only way to make an appointment that would be kept). They asked me if I wanted to re-schedule, but the next time was not until next week. As I'm never going to visit this, or any Standard Optical again, I declined, but it leads me with a few questions. Telling me that they were going to call me means that they have visibility to their online system, so at no time between Monday and today could someone not have checked to see I had an appointment? When exactly were they planning to call me if they know that they request people to be there 15 minutes before the appointment? If someone has the ability to see the online appointments at any time, why wouldn't you contact everyone that made one and verify? Why even allow online appointments at all? Could you imagine if I called in right before my appointment and said "Sorry, my wall calendar and my phone calendar didn't match up so I'm not going to make it today." I could totally get past the fact that the online isn't working until I'm told while I stand there "We knew your appointment didn't work, we just weren't going to tell you until you drove down here".

I have a really high glasses prescription, my right eye definitely struggles more than my left eye. The doctor at this location did great and took his time trying to get the new prescription to the best it could be. I've been to the Taylorsville location and it just always felt like the doctor rushed the exam and just wanted to get to the next patient.
