This was a very nice place to eat. The staff is much friendlier and more attentive here than at other food locations in the zoo. The waterfall out back provides a lovely ambiance whilst dining on some tasty food. I would recommend this restaurant because the prices are only a couple dollars more than the other restaurants but you get better food, better service, and a nice air conditioned environment. And if you have a souvenir sipper they'll refill it there for free if you have the receipt! Excellent experience!

Albert was the gorilla that lived there at San Diego Zoo for years. The restaurant is built in its old habitat. Very great food.
The menu rotates seasonally, and often includes a gluten free option. In addition ask your server about the possibility of accommodating gluten free options on any dish you are considering. While not all dishes can be modified, some can.
