I am completely dissatisfied with women's space so called services... I had read that they offered advocacy shelter COUNCILING.. counseling compassion counselingcounseling and help you search for a place to live.. I received none of that except shelter they put me in a hotel room and forgot about me there were no interviews I never met these people I was just put there there was no advice no guidance and no leadership or understanding... During my 3 weeks in their program I felt tossed like an old shoe it took me 7 days of calling them to get a change of clothes all I had was the ones I came in with 7 days... In 3 weeks I never saw these people I never met with these people I never received any guidance or counseling not even on the phone at one point I need an emergency surgery amputation of my foot and I was hospitalized for 7 days during the 7 days I was unable to look for apartment housing for myself they did nothing upon returning to th Safe House but they were keeping me in I was told to leave with stitches still in my foot I was barely able to walk and they put me out on the streets without a place to go knowing that I couldn't look for a place while I was in having surgery and in the hospital they didn't care they just said get out don't trust this place they have no compassion no empathy they do nothing they just put you somewhere and give you a few weeks to find a place on your own for yourself without any involvement beware women's space

This is one of the most unprofessional places I have ever received counseling at. For starters, my counselor Alana told me her other clients traumas and stories in detail. It felt like I was her therapist at one point. To make matters worse, this place also offers group therapy so it’s not hard to put 2 and 2 together and figure out who she was talking about. People talk and I hate to find out others may know about my NDE and trauma like this is some high school cafeteria full of means girls and gossip. She also was pushing her political beliefs down my throat about the pandemic and roe vs wade. Literally soon as I walked in she was dumping all her personal opinions on me. I’m not sure what that lady had going on but there was no excuse for her unprofessionalism. Unfortunately I was in a really dark space at the time and wish I would’ve ran out of there sooner but I was desperate for help. Guess you get what you pay for. Cheap counseling calls for cheap unprofessional treatment. There’s nothing like having trauma from going to an unethical counselor who is suppose to help with healing trauma.

They will not give you fair treatment if you were a man I called them with all my problems and they told me what type of help do I want I don’t know you’re the one that is supposed to help victims of domestic violence they should keep the name woman space because this place is only for women if you’re a man find somebody else they don’t care! Woman I spoke to on the phone was an idiot did not want to help me and was mad because I said if I was a woman more would be done when it’s true that it is called woman in space for a reason and keep it that way do not say you’re here for men and women when you’re not here for a minute all you guys not help me one bit I guess when you’re male domestic violence does it matter to them.

I wouldn't recommend it. Super disorganized, unhelpful screening, unhelpful follow-up, very triggering. None of the kindness and understanding I have experienced at other county's facilities. None of the willingness or interest to help.
