The lifeguards are so rude and are so inconvenient we got banned from the slide because we held our legs which would make u spin plus they didn’t even give me a warning and lied about repeatedly asking us to stop when they never did. Cheap

Edit. So we have beem swimming all summer long and today they decide to do a swim test on my 11yr old stepson.(He swims fine and im always close) The test was treading water. First the way she explained to my stepson was not the correct way to tread water. Second they made him tread in water 3 foot 6 inches. Which he is well over 4 ft. Edit for today. I went by the pool with the kids. They were completely closed due to being short staffed. I tried to call parks and rec to see when they would be open. I waited on hold for over an hour and finally gave up. So far the slide has been down due to "not enough staff" nearly the entire season. There is also so many rules like kids can only wear certain floaties on their arms. Pay these kids a decent wage (lifeguards) and staff. Lets not ruin this entire swim season again. Des Moines had a full year to upgrade. I wish they would. This pool does the job. Although the slide needs upgraded. There needs to be more than just an umbrella fountain for the little ones. Im not happy i spent 140 for a season family pass.
