What are the hours for the food pantry to be open
We have a light breakfast (a snack, really) on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:30 a.m. Sunday school begins at 10:00, and our worship service is in our chapel at 11:00 a.m. Our office is open 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday Our pantry is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9 a.m. - noon and Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
We do not accept donations at the corps, but please call us to find The Salvation Army donation drop-off location nearest you or to schedule a pick-up of your items.
We do not offer rent or utility bill assistance at the Citadel Worship and Service Center, but we do offer this kind of financial assistance, as well as material assistance and infant care supplies, at The Salvation Army Temple Worship and Service Center, located at 1326 6th Ave, Des Moines. Call us to learn more.
No, we do not have a homeless shelter or emergency housing at The Salvation Army of Des Moines.
We do not offer an after-school program, but we do have character-building and music classes, teen nights and dinner on Wednesdays at both our Citadel and Temple Community Centers.

The basketball program is for kids in 1st - 6th grade and is split into leagues by grade. (1st & 2nd grade is one league, 3rd & 4th grade is one league, and 5th & 6th grade is yet another).
