I can’t express how beautiful this little area is. And a lot of the parents that go there are actually very nice and will hold a conversation if our kids are playing together. Not a lot of trash or anything around this area which leads me to believe everyone is picking up after themselves, wish more areas like this would do the same!

Public park in downtown Ft.Payne, Alabama. There are monuments to Confederate soldiers, markers to historical events facing the Cherokees, such as the Trail of Tears, and the founding of FtPayne, and the Cherokee alphabet that was invented by Sequoyah. There are statues of the Alabama Band. There are picnic tables, benches,a fountain, swings, pavillions,a gazebo and a public restroom. There is also a little marker dedicated to whittler's corner, where local elderly men used to gather to talk, whittle and watch people.

Nice area, we had not planned to stop but something caught our eye. It was during the really cold weather and was 16 that morning. We saw the fountain in the park totally frozen and just had to stop and look. We would love to go back in warmer weather as there seemed to be many neat attractions.
