This place is an absolute joke! Management treats employees horribly! Cares are not being met for residents it’s breaks my heart honestly! KEEP YOUR LOVED ONES OUT OF WESTWOOD!!

The Physical Therapists are wonderful and it is a nice facility. However, the Administration, Nursing Director, and Social Work staff are worthless. Most of the CNAs and Nursing staff are pleasant but are very understaffed. Call lights on for at least 30-45 minutes. Staff at the nurses station not answering call lights ringing right in front of them. IV Vancomycin given anywhere from 2-4 hours late. Incorrect use of PPE by staff.

I have been working at Westwood Specialty Care since last summer. I wanted to work as a CNA to get my foot in the door for my nursing career. I have loved it at Westwood. They have taught me many things that have set me up to become a great nurse in the future. I truly believe Westwood has a dedicated group of staff that do everything they can to make the residents happy and feel at home. That does not mean we are perfect but we do love and care for our residents. It’s a great atmosphere to work in and if I was gonna live in a nursing home I’d choose Westwood.

Dedicated staff! Great atmosphere and beautiful building.

Unfortunately at this time we are unable to accept tracheotomy patients at Westwood Specialty Care in Sioux City. However, our sister facilities Sibley Specialty Care and Cherokee Specialty Care are able to provide care on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our nurse transition coordinator Margie Braun at (515) 393-1971.
We do bill the VA directly. For payment for Room and board, a veteran must be 70% service related disabled. If a veteran qualifies for hospice this 70% service related disability is waved. We must go through a pre-authorization process prior to admission for all admissions.
