Dr. Frank is outstanding when it comes to his patients and their care. He is very thorough in his diagnosis and sends you to the appropriate specialist if need be. He is very much on his medical game and eager to see you back to your normal healthy self. He listens to you and your needs as a patients and then talks about options. Yes you have options in this office when it comes to your treatment plan. He knows medicine better than any doctor I have every seen. His knowledge of the heart is by far the best there is around, hands down. I trust him with my kids, myself and most importantly my husband. The wait time could be shorter if the office staff was a little more efficient, but you can’t expect everything to be perfect. Once those kinks are worked out you couldn’t find a better practice to park your chart at. Dr. Frank is working hard and swiftly to correct that area as well.

This physician continues to provide extremely generous care to his patients through thick and thin. He has gone above and beyond what can be expected of a doctor. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the NC area

I am giving the front desk a bad review NOT Dr. Wefald. I was willing to drive quite a distance to see this physician for a health need that I have, but could not even get past the initial phone call to make the appointment. When I tried to schedule the appointment, I was immediately asked for my social security number. When I explained that I do not give out that number for security reasons, I was told very sternly by the office manager that unless I provided my social security number, then I could not be seen at this practice. I was very upset that I cannot even see this physician for any help because I will not give up my personal information. Also, I explained that I do have health insurance and offered to pre-pay for the visit, but that did not matter in the end.

Dr. Wefald and his staff recently saved my life by properly diagnosing and treating a critical cardiac problem which another local doctor had referred to as "minor." I have nothing but gratitude for the good care and personal attention they have provided. The doctor is caring beyond anything I've seen--even to the point of personally escorting a senior citizen patient to her car. I saw him do it. He is compassionate, caring and a most unusual doctor who I'll trust with my life.

He's a cardiologist not a lung doctor, he's been taking care of my mom's since 2015 we have no complaints other than how long it takes to see him on average it's 2 hrs.

I need to find out if Dr. Wefald is still in practiceand what hospital he is affiliated with. He was my cardiologist in 2002 when I had a heart attack then. Now I have had another one and am in Wakemed.
