This review is for the youth sports. Soccer in particular, the YMCA leagues have zero organization. They charge you for a league with coaching but have no coaches and no organization. You sign up and then get endless text messages, it’s utter chaos until they finally find a parent and then that parent doesn’t even show up to half the games and doesn't communicate that they won’t be there. This happened with both teams we were in this year, kids two years apart. Do not advertise a league and charge more than anyone else if you don’t have coaches. It really isn't about the money I would pay more for a good league it's the fact they charge at all for what is provided. The jerseys are provided by sponsors, the coaches don't get paid and they supposedly provide kids with trophies so they can remember the experience, but those were not provided either. I would never put either child back in any league run by the YMCA in Myrtle Beach. It was utterly pathetic and embarrassing.

Great location. Very nice staff. Facility very nice with activities for everyone. You just got to get there, sometimes that's the biggest challenge. If this info helps, like the review. Be Safe

Truly a great (and clean) place, from top to bottom ergonomic and pleasant. I've been going here 6 days a week since October and it has became a place and group of people I simply could not do without. A wide variety of machines, classes and people with one common goal and positive outlook. Staff and members are all lovely and very friendly. Young, Old and all mesh well and never fail to make one another smile or to help eachother out.

Most Y's have some form of reciprocity. You'll want to contact each Y individually to find out how they handle visiting Y members. At the Claire Chapin Epps Y they allow visiting Y members to do a day pass for $5 per adult. They also accept Silver sneakers insurance participants and Silver & Fit insurance participants. You'll want to call them to find out what fees, if any, may be associated with your visits.
We do offer discounts for Senior Memberships.
No entry pool starts at 0 depth and slopes down to 5 feet at the deep end.

Yes
Yes... and classes for all, with/without physical limitations.
I just joined the gym and was told they do not reciprocate because Myrtle Beach is a high tourist area and they would be overwhelmed with visitors. Unfortunately they don't have the capacity to accommodate.
Yes if you are a member or you can go for a day, I think for 5 dollars
It's opened 24 hours day.
Membership is required for all classes and they are free. Stop at the front desk and you do not have to member to attend a class. There is a daily fee to use the facility.
Yes Susan this is the best time to join the Y. Plus as a member fitness classes are free. Front desk people are very friendly and would be happy to help you. Hope to see you soon. Tom.
No rooms at this complex.
Their current schedule shows open gym from 1:00-5:00pm Saturday
Depends on if you want membership or individual classes
They do
They have tables for conversation and a coffee pot
I don't think ao
Totally overcrowded in the am winter months as we have a lot of "snow birds". The rest of the season is good depending on your time frame. Can't beat most of the classes that are offered for the price.
No
They have one 70lbs bag in the weight room and gloves to borrow. Also, they do Les Mills Combat classes that are organized kickboxing style workouts.
Yes they do
Fun play Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 3.
They have half court with 3 goals open most of the time. An hour here or there the whole court is reserved for something so call ahead or check the online schedule. They leave a bucket of balls in there but rarely have organized groups playing. Saturday and Sunday afternoon sees more group free play. Mostly a younger crowd though.
Why don't you call them.....
Adult $51/month; Family $82/month. Classes included. Child watch included with family account. Other accounts, and discounts available. 1st time members may have joining fees.
Yes, they do
Hi Bob! Our showers are all private.
Hi Lesa! We would love to have you join us while you are in town on vacation! Visiting Y members enjoy a reduced daily rate. Normally the rate is $12, but you can use our facility for only $5. Have a great day and a safe trip down!

Hi Craig! Yes, the pool is heated and stays around 86 degrees year round. It it not salt water, but we use a UV filtration system so we are able to keep our chlorine usage at a minimum.
