This is an amazing trail. It's right next to the Triangle North Executive Airport. I like to hike before or after flying. There is a longer trail, and a shorter one depending on how you are feeling.

I was disappointed how there was no waterfall.. it was more a dry out area. One side was quite a narrow path way which wasn't bad and another side near the powerlines was a great open pathway leads to a beautiful pond filled with turtle's and fish. Went on a Sunday and there was no one else there.

This place is a hidden gem. It’s one of my children’s favorite places to play and explore; we are here at least once a month if not more. There is a bamboo path, various woodland trails, creeks, a pond, a waterfall, and so much wildlife! We’ve seen deer, great blue herons, and more. You’ll also see a variety of native plants like lady’s slipper and spiderwort. It’s a beautiful place to visit during any season!

I took my daughter today and was extremely disappointed that this site is not accessible to someone in an electric wheelchair. We could not start down and never made it out of the parking lot due to the path not being accessible. Very Disappointed!

There are 3 different trails with different distances. Think the longest trail is like a mile and a half. But could be wrong.
Yes, you just need to clean up after them
It's about a mile
No it is open and thriving!

I've now added pictures I took showing all of the signs posted around the entrance to include the rules posted governing the possession of firearms on the premises, hours open etc. As many have shown up asking about all of these things. Also note: they do have portable restroom facility's set in place behind the gazebo as shown in a couple of my pictures. I personally carry concealed and don't ask permission as I'd rather be tried by 12 then carried by 6. But to each his own. As for your dog it's a little bumpy going in depending on which trail you choose but once you've reached the top around the pond it's soft grass or a lightly worn trail. The trails to the pond don't take 2 minutes to get through as it isn't far at all, maybe 60yrds at most. Watch for fire ant mounds if you stand still around the pond and other grassy areas.
First, I feel it necessary to point out you may have a typo within your question as you've called out this year of 2018 as being your time frame for donating last year. As for the park being removed from the list I cannot speak to that other then to say I imagine it may be related to the fact Mr de'Hart past away fairly recently.
I agree with the others, i pushed my stroller up to the lake and although not really difficult it wasn't a smooth ride either. I recall climbing a little bit of hilly spots and having to get over some roots and rocks in a couple spots. You could probably get a wheelchair back there but it'll take a little work. Path really isn't that wide either.
