The wrap around closet has been so wonderful for our foster children and they will also take donations of your gently used clothes and other items that foster children can "shop" for at no cost. Wonderful staff too!

Looking for a church with decent people? This church is not the place for you. This church recently ordered from a local restaurant. The bill was $200+, and they had the audacity to tip 2%. TWO PERCENT of a $200+ bill. These are not good people. Stay away from them and this church.

Our family enjoys attending. We feel more welcome than we did at the church we were going to.

I have been a part of many great churches over my lifetime. All of my favorites in the different cities I have lived in seem to keep a common theme. The Rock - Rusty Nelson (Huntsville, AL), Destiny Church - Steven Morgan - Columbia, TN, Church of the Highlands - Chris Hodges - Birmingham, AL, & now City Church - Derek Bareman - Spring Hill, TN all are 100% amazing places. We are a simple family that is looking for passionate worship, a strong belief that God is still real, present, & active in our daily lives, great children facilities and a leadership that cares! Yesterday we were struggling to attend church. This had nothing to do with the time or the great church we had been attending on a non regular basis, but our kids. My children didn't connect where we were going because none of their school friends were there. In the debate with my wife I opened up Google and searched churches in Spring Hill. City Church is right beside our house and we drive past it multiple times daily. We opened up their website and immediately felt submersed that our ideals/passions were falling right in line with the churches vision. We got there 20 minutes early to do the normal kid routine and hear from all the greeters. We were quicly but not hastily greeted. They walked us over to the the kid check in desk. I need to pause here and say that the church is laid out very well. Things just make sense. Its kind of like walking into someone elses kitchen and you don't even have to guess where the cups are because they are closest to the fridge just like when you're home. The process was quick, electronic, & still personable. Our kids 6/3/2 were taken to class and not one was upset or cried. They all had an absolute blast and asked can we come back next week! As a previous youth and childrens pastor I believe reaching kids where they are at a young age is vital to their future. Now lets move on to the service. You walk in to the sanctuary and it quickly meets the eye test. Modern, clean, organized, & appealing. Service quickly began to fill up for the 11am start time and the band came out. Live music with great vocals, guitars, and a rocking drummer. They played a combination of radio popular type contemporary worship and some other well known names like Hill song/Jesus Culture etc. Arrive to the stage Pastor Derek. If I'm being honest, I am very quick to judge someone....at least in my head. Maybe judge isn't the right word and "sizing someone up" is a better fit. Derek looked to be about 6' tall, fit, passionate, and a strong extrovert. We in particular found this to be appealing. We like passionate people because our family is. Yes we have some introverts but for the most part we are passionate and outspoken about life! His message was interactive, funny, backed by scripture (lots of it), & not lengthy. It's funny how a person can get a word/direction from God and then allow the Holy Spirit to just pour through them. When this happens and we open ourselves up to it, HE will always connect to us. That is what we experienced yesterday. The message was simple and powerful. What would you bring with you? What matters on this earth? Do you live in every moment as a representative of Christ? The foot of the cross is flat and all are welcome, however people won't come if they don't see us united and pouring out the light the God set inside us. Service came to a close, Pastor Derek offered to meet with guests, said a prayer and that was it! We walked out grabbed our elated kids & went over to meet the pastor. We felt that immediate personal connection and told him we want to make it our home! This review may sound too good to be true but it was just our experience. We know what we are looking for and it is all here at City Church. This is our new home!
