To say that I was terrified of handguns was putting it mildly, and when my husband decided to participate in this new hobby, I was ready to draw a line in the sand. It took several months before I came to the realization that if guns are going to be in the house with our children, I better learn not be afraid of them. So, my husband set me up with Enzo. Enzo was very kind, understanding and patient of my views, even expressing that his wife used to have similar views. During my lesson, Enzo walked me through every step at a pace that I was comfortable with, taking time to reassure me that nothing bad was going to happen. And when it came time for me to hold the loaded weapon and fire it myself, my hands sweating with tremendous fear, a flood of emotion washed over me after I fired. Enzo put me right at ease and explained that what I was experiencing was completely normal. Once I was past that, I was an open book, and through his tutelage, I progressed at a rapid pace. I was amazed that by the end of our session, not only was I no longer afraid of handguns, but I was actually having fun and didn't want to stop. I highly recommend Enzo, his training, his patience and his knowledge. I've never had firearms training so I have nothing to compare it to, but I'm confident when I say Enzo is the BEST!

My wife and I very much enjoyed the Concealed Carry Handgun Training Course with Enzo! Enzo is an excellent instructor both in the classroom and on the range! He made the course fun while covering all the important material needed for the course. If you are considering taking this course or if you are considering any firearms training at all, we would highly recommend Enzo!!

Excellent course. Enzo teaches a relaxed and highly informative class with good pasing. You will come away with the knowledge you need for CCW as well as your decision if it's right for you if you are undecided.

What's the best pistol for a woman to carry in their pants pocket or jeans?

Hi Jesse M, wow that's an interesting question. It's difficult to recommend something specific because the needs of an individual can vary extensively. Females normally have a tougher time concealing firearms on their clothing because they tend to favor more formfitting garments that don't work well to cover the outline of a handgun. Also the female shape is not very friendly to holsters around the waist area. For pocket carry some notable examples are firearms like the Kahr PM series and the Glock 43 but the Glock tends to be on the larger size of what we consider pocket carry guns. Have you thought of other alternatives like pocket book carry or ever waist packs (fanny packs). there are many options out there that allow a female to carry a larger handgun in comfort and still be at the ready if needed. If you do decide to pocket carry make sure you acquire a suitable pocket type holster DeSantis makes a good one for many of the more popular pistol models.

As a senior citizen, over 70 years old, I want to carry a hand gun in North Carolina. What do I do?

Hi, You start the process with attending a Concealed Carry Class given by a state certified instructor. This class is a very basic intro to handguns, and most important, the laws governing the use of deadly force, self defense and concealed carry in NC. Once you get a certificate of completion for the class you apply for your permit through your county's Sherriff Department website. The forms are online and when you fill them out and pay the application fee you make an appointment to get fingerprinted on the same site. When you get fingerprinted that starts the process of approval of the license by the County and State. Expect this to take 8-12 weeks from the date your fingerprints are taken. God luck and don't wait long, the wait for the dates to get fingerprinted are getting longer by the day!
