We've been coming to St. Jacques about once a year (except during COVID) since we moved down here in around 2013. This was our favorite "special occasion" place to go. After taking some time away due to COVID, we finally made it back this weekend and I just felt it lost so much of what made it special. The food was delicious... dont get me wrong... seriously yummy. But... the service was completely different. First, it used to be a nice relaxed dinner. We'd sit there a good 2 to 2.5 hours having a nice 3 course meal. There was no rush... plenty of time in between courses and that is how we liked it. But this time, it was one big rush. 3 courses in just over an hour and out the door. The bread came out and less than a minute, the appetizers followed. Dinner was out within 5 minutes of the appetizers being done and then same with dessert. Second, what happened to the sommelier? We loved that someone there knew the wine and could help us pair it with our food. Nothing like that this time. Just would you like a drink. Lastly, I really miss the palette cleanser that used to be served. I really missed that little unexpected bite of something nice and refreshing. It's not that this was a bad food experience... but the service was just average for any other restaurant and for the price being paid for the meal, I expect more (like it used to be). I'd be perfectly happy with this level of service if I was Sip, Co, Rosewater, Bida Manda, etc... but I expect more from St. Jacques.

Reviews don’t match with the experience I had at this place. First, it took a very long time for the waitress to come up to us. It felt like we were not welcomed there. If it was too late then don’t let people make reservations 45min before closing time. Second, All food I ordered was extremely salty. French onion soup looked like it was a purée made of onions, with no broth. And when I told our waitress she said that’s what the real French onion soup should be like. NO. This is not it. I ordered beef tenderloin and the sauce on it was so salty I could not eat it. Also, the meat was cooked rare. I think it should’ve been told by our waitress beforehand. She never explained us the menu or what options we have, or what do we like. If you’re claiming yourself as an “upscale” restaurant then make sure your staff match up to it. They offered me another meal but I was afraid it’d be salty as well. Menu has very limited options.

It was fine, nothing exceptional. The food was well prepared but nothing exceptional. Dining room felt like the waiting room in a doctors office in terms of decor and lighting. Service was quite poor; every time we needed more wine, bread, water, check, etc our server was at the next table in the midst of a long winded conversation. For the cost I would expect better service and atmosphere. There are better options if you are looking for a fine dining experience in the area.

Wow! Every course, right down to the bread and butter, made me want to lick the bowl. Too bad that’s not god French manners. :-). Bravo!

Do you sell Beef Wellington there I don't see it on your menu

Is this a trick question? Saint Jacques specializes in FRENCH cuisine. Beef Wellington is a BRITISH dish, named after Arthur Wellesley, the first Duke of Wellington, who defeated Napoleon at Waterloo. If you want amazing French food, Saint Jacques is your place. If you want Beef Wellington, you'll probably have to try somewhere else.
