The Nashville Food Project prepares meals for distribution by other non-profit organizations to those in need, which includes poor elderly, school children, and victims of natural disasters. The staff are top notch, and their kitchen is a shining example of what a commercial kitchen should be. They receive donations from various businesses like Whole Foods, as well as local farmers. I provide a knife sharpening service to the NFP at no charge, as my contribution to their efforts.

Questions & Answers

Do you help people get food who have no way of getting to you?

I had leaves food there and I think that they prepare the food and distribute it somewhere but I'm not sure, I've brought, pasta, bread, cereal, and I think they use the donated food to prepare the food because I saw that they have a great kitchen, they are very kind and they have a receipt for donation if you need it. You can go ask.

Do you all accept or pick up food that is untouched -- from organizations --- Not from the back of the house --- this would be unopened cartons of milk, wrapped crackers and cookies etc. apples, oranges, and other items....

Hi, Angela! The Nashville Food Project partners with local organizations to provide meals along with their programming, unfortunately we don't provide community food boxes. Here are a couple of great local organizations that do have food pantries/food boxes, though: The Little Pantry That Could St. Luke's Community House Nashville Free Store Second Harvest Sponsored Sites Let us know if you have any other questions!

Was this question to me? I'm a senior living on SS! Not easy even if just me. There must be some way you can get help. Try an online search. Good luck.
