My dog was taken in by animal control for being in OUR yard while my husband and I were at work. They are supposed to hold dogs for 72 hours to give owners a chance to claim them. When I got home and couldn’t find her I found their post on Facebook which stated “surrendered by owner” which was a lie. When I called to try to get her they told me she was with a foster and couldn’t give me any information until the next day at lunch. Thanks to lots of shares on Facebook the family who had her contacted me and we were able to get her back ( they were not fosters they were under the assumption they had adopted her) They had told them an old man had surrendered her but didn’t have her name or anything so they let the family take her without getting their names, numbers, any contact info and didn’t charge them an adoption fee because she wasn’t in the system yet and they needed her gone. This was all in a matter of 4-6 hours. They treated my baby like trash and lied to multiple parties in this situation. They only started to get scared when I started to get the police involved. This is a trash excuse for a shelter and they do not care for any animals they take in.

My heart was completely broken today.💔my husband and myself were at the shelter on Fri 7-22-22,and was shown a poodle we wanted despartly and was told they had to keep him until Tuesday and we could pick him up then...I got there 40mins early after driving a hour and fifteen minutes to get there was told he went to a rescue.😭was told "sorry" she said she would call so we wouldn't drive so far ...she never called.and it didn't bother them either 😭😭😭.they really didn't care.thinking of telling TV station....no one deserves this... not even Me nor the deaf poodle.

You probably need to go to the shelter in person and search for her ASAP because rumors are that some animals get put down before their 72hrs hold time is up.
If this animal has a chip. The police department might be able to help. If not sometimes, people will report their lost animal to the humans seity, just in case they are turned in there.
Call the animal control and report this to them immediately!! They'll come and rescue them. You can report it anonymously so you don't have to deal with no flack from your neighbor
You need to call animal control and explain your situation and they should come get him.

Not sure what they have left but they had a Shepherd mix and a lab mix puppy when I was there last. They are super friendly folks working there and I totally enjoyed working with them to adopt the dog we just got from them.
