As a business owner, I understand staff shortages. What I do not understand is waiting 30 min on hold to speak to someone in the pharmacy only to be hung up on, a drive thru window that has been inoperational for WEEKS (or has it?), 45 minute+ lines at the inside pharmacy window, and being prescribed a medication over a week ago with communication 4 times with people at the pharmacy that yes, they'll process it, they'll contact the doctor to find out what the issue is for it to finally be found on the 4th in person visit that it's something that can be overrode by the pharmacy themselves. Current pharmacy issues aside, the store is always well-stocked and clean.

Prescription for COVID was called in by my physician at 10am. I went to pick it up at 2pm. The drive through window had cardboard on it, and a notice to come inside to get prescriptions. I have COVID, very sick, with coughing, sneezing, runny nose and weakness. When I got inside, I was told my prescription was ready, but would have to wait for pharmacist approval, and the pharmacist is on break. I sat there for 40 minutes, unable to keep a mask on due to the symptoms I was experiencing. I continually warned other customers to stay away from me because I have COVID. Still, 40 minutes later, despite the obvious coughing and distress, I asked again, if my prescription was ready? This is unacceptable practice. I fear walking in to Walgreens on Neuse Blvd., now. The pharmacist was moving at a slower pace than this senior citizen.

I have No problem with the store itself but the pharmacy sucks. I tried to refill a prescription that needed more refills. They told me I had to call the doctors office myself. The doctors office told me that Walgreens had to send a request by fax. For two days I kept calling the pharmacy & getting put on hold… and several times was cut off completely after 20 minutes on hold. They are terrible about saying your medication is ready for pickup but when you get there to pick it up it isn’t ready😡. Pharmacy SUCKS..!!!

This location (Neuse Blvd) is SO much better than the other on Martin Luther King! The staff is always friendly & professional. The only complaint I have with them is when they closed their window for giving shots or tests. I don’t want to go in and make others sick or be around sick people to get my meds.
