I’m puzzled at the rating of this place, because every time I’ve needed help and have lived in the mountain area I’ve always encountered friendly, helpful, competent staff! The service is quick, I receive instant updates on what’s going on and have always been satisfied with the outcome of the help I need.

I don’t even almost understand how this office has a “1-Star Rating”. They have always been more than helpful and accommodating for my kids and me. I can’t imagine being in their shoes and dealing with ever changing laws and rules...and the people who think they’re exempt from such rules. Any time I’ve had an issue with a worker who maybe seemed insensitive or gave me wrong information (which was MAYBE twice that I can think of), I’ve expressed my frustration or explained the information I’ve gathered and they’ve always handled it with professionalism and respect. It really bothers me that people would give such a terrible rating when in reality, it’s probably not at all the fault of the employees here and completely the fault of their “customers”. Thank you Oakhurst Social Services. You’ve helped my family through some rough times. You’re doing a great job!
