Mariposa Grove and its trailheads are amazing. Easy enough with trails for all levels. We followed the Grizzly trail that led to the Grizzly Giant. Nice seating around this giant noble tree to rest after you hike up. A little bit more up the trail is the tunnel tree. Be prepared for a long line to take pictures (or videos). Shuttles to/from the visitor center to the grove arrival area are free and are frequent (every 8-10 mins). Great visit and beautiful part of Yosemite.

The Grizzly Giant tree is about 209 feet tall.
Fires I doubt that problem exists. Wind hopefully not as so much already blew down. Smoke not really. Snow.. maybe. I was there a few days ago Oct 9th 2021.
Just need a reservation to get in to the park but not to Grizzly Giant.
No you have to park by the entrance station and take a bus into the mariposa grove. There is a trail that is getting built but as NPS rules state that dogs are only aloud on trails that are paved
Only fee is when you enter Yosemite
