My old Dodge caravan giving me problems this morning broke down. Westerville , thankfully Westerville City police officers we're nearby and I mentioned it to flag one down he came all the way back around the block to help me... move my disabled vehicle to the gas station! With a very smoothly executed push from his Bull bar in front πŸ€˜πŸ˜„ Super awesome guys wished I would have got the officer's names to commemorate their effort to help. Thanks Y'all. God bless lthe Men and woman in blue! and the red white and blue Merica!!!!!🀘🀘

This department is amazing. The dispatch team is always friendly and attentive and the time to resolution for any issues we encounter is beyond fast from the uniforms. they are always respectful and professional. We don't have problems in our area often but when we do, like this last week, they are resolved immediately and effectively. I don't like the government, but these guys are pretty solid ambassadors as is the City of Westerville as a whole

I never thought I would have to be nervous or scared to talk to a cop. they automatically assume you’re guilty and have done something wrong. they came to my house about 4 times in the past 2/3 months. they come banging at the door late at night expecting people to be awake and know what’s going on. they blow thing way out of proportion and assume the worst. they bully minors, and make things seem life threatening. And just passed three cop cars with one drunk man. i don’t understand why there needs to be more than one cop car when it’s something like that. it saddens me because i know there are good cops, but it’s cops like these who are out just to escalate the circumstances. i hope they can figure out what’s going on.

I felt like I was going to be run off the road by a Westerville police suv around 230 am last night. I guess I am not allowed to be driving my sick with covid child to the ER. Running my plates is one thing, but driving next to me in an intimidating manner is unacceptable and unsafe. My suv was and is not stolen so no reason to be starring me down like that on icy roads!

You can make donations to the GoFundMe link through the FOP Capital City Lodge #9 website.

Can police chiefs push for new policy where their officers stand back behind their cars for cover when responding to ALL domestic disputes and call the residents out using a bull horn or phone (instead of walking up to the residence)?

I'm sure it's possible, but very impractical

Can police chiefs estab. new policy where officers responding to domestic disputes ALWAYS walk to front porch already using a protective shield of some bullet proof sort? Seems like failing to take extra cover is too much of an unnecessary risk.

Can unused prescription drugs be dropped off for safe disposal at this location?

There are usually places where they can be dropped off at either the police department or local pharmacies. (Although, some charge, which isn't helpful.) Westerville has drug take back days as well.
