After charging me six hundred dollars in labor for testing and to install a battery to replace the brand new battery I had just purchased elsewhere, the Westerville Rd location gave up on the repair and recommended that I take my Mercedes to a dealer. The battery "Draw Down" test they claimed to have performed should have shown a constant current draw from my battery of 1.4amps, as it did at my Mercedes dealer. Of course, even a new battery will not charge with a constant current drain from the cars electrical system, as almost any auto mechanic would know. There was no need for a new battery. I was easily able to charge my battery at home by disconnecting it from the cars electrical system, and then connecting it again for the initial drive to Westerville Automotive. I reluctantly agreed to the installation of a new battery based on Westerville Automotive's assurances that my new battery was at fault and their insistence that my battery must be replaced based on their "testing". I feel entitled to a refund for the unnecessary purchase of a new battery and the faulty testing that they performed. Westerville Automotive personnel are not inclined to listen to technical suggestions from their customers. Occasionally however, a customer will show up with a PhD in Physics and a background in electrical and software engineering that is worth listening to.
