Ordered pizza and a grinder for take out. 40 minutes till ready. Arrived at 40 minute mark and order was not done. Turned out one of the pizzas was given to another customer. Waited another 40 minutes for the two pizzas and grinder. The remade pizza was partially wrong, and the meatball grinder was just meatballs. When asked about the grinder they took it back and made it into a grinder, and wanted to charge an additional $5 for what I had already ordered. So, the pizza and grinder were good, warm at best but good. Probably the most annoying thing was that no one was interested in apologizing for the mistakes. I wouldn't bother writing this review if it weren't for that fact.

This restaurant is the definition of a hidden gem. Our group chose to come here since it was close to the beach entrance, but we never expected the exception service and great food that was provided. The server was very accommodating for our large group of 10 and even moved some tables for us so we could all sit together. The pizzas were freshly made and had a nice crispiness to it because of the oven. Also, the pastas we ordered were very flavorful and those who ordered them finished them completely. Overall, the experience was much better than we had imagined and we would recommend it to anyone.

The Napoli's just opened the end of April. The new owner/chef chatted with us and served us. He and the waitress were very friendly and fun to talk with. The Pizza was really good, I ordered mushroom & sausage and my husband had pepperoni. They use flour from Italy to create it. We enjoyed the experience so much we returned the next day for dinner, the food was plentiful and very tasty. We would give it 4 1/2 stars and watch for it to only get better.

I will start by saying that I understand the staffing challenges and restrictions associated with COVID-19. That being said, I don't believe any of that had an impact on our dining experience at The Napoli's. As residents of Wells, we heard about the change in ownership/management, and re-opening of The Napoli's through local Facebook pages. Having not been prior to the closing, living less than ten minutes away, and being big fans of pizza, my wife and I decided to give it a shot. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated immediately. I was a bit surprised at how small it was inside, but there is bar seating, outside dining on a deck, and perhaps more seating upstairs? The main dining area is a bit small and the tables seem a bit on-top of each other. We were there early and the only ones sitting inside so it didn't bother us much, but I couldn't imagine it during the peak of summer tourist season. I could almost use the table-for-two to my left as an arm rest. There was no music playing when we arrived, but about 10 minutes into our visit, the TV started playing a YouTube playlist of Country Music. "The Top 100 Romantic Country Songs of All Time" isn't exactly what I expected to listen to at an Italian restaurant... Our server Brittany was great. Attentive and helpful, answered all of our questions with ease. Unfortunately she also had to deliver a lot bad news that seemed to stem from the restaurant opening before it was quite ready for business. The menus were just spiral bound pieces of laminated paper as the actual menus hadn't come in yet. The "Drinks and Specials" board hadn't been updated since the restaurant's original closing, so the advertised (pictured) half-off appetizers during Happy Hour (4-6) turned out to be false and was not honored. We were informed they were out of fresh mozzarella (a pretty key ingredient in an "Italian Kitchen" as the name of the restaurant states). It just seemed in a lot of ways that they opened before they were ready. We decided to order the Totchos, as out of place as they seemed for an Italian restaurant. They were fine, though cut-up, half melted, deli slices of pepper-jack cheese was not what we were expecting as a topping for a nacho-esque dish. The salsa was quite good, and the jalapenos were fresh and crunchy. We also ordered two small pizzas. They were also just fine. Definitely didn't have that bubbly-crust, piping hot, boiling cheese, brick oven flavor we love so much. I would have thought they were just baked in an oven. The Fungi sounded like a good pizza on the menu, but didn't taste like it read on the menu. There was no truffle flavor as the menu description indicated, just a bit of garlic. Enough mushrooms for two or three per slice. We also asked to add Ricotta cheese to the pizza when we ordered, but it came to the table without it. Perhaps they were also out of Ricotta (again, it's a self-proclaimed Italian Kitchen). It didn't show up on the bill, so it is what it is. The other pizza we ordered was The Zeus, which essentially is their combination style pizza with lots of meats and veggies. It was also just fine, nothing to write home about. I picked up a cluster of ground beef that had fallen off a slice onto my plate and ate it on it's own, and that's all it was, plain cooked ground beef. I know it's just a topping, but a little seasoning when cooking it goes a long way. Chunks of ham seemed a little out of place in comparison to the sliced ham I would expect on a pizza. Overall, like the food, our experience was alright. Unfortunately we will probably not be back, as there are just too many better pizza options in the area. It may seem like I'm being a bit harsh, especially in their first few days open for business, but we expected an Italian Kitchen "Naples Style Brick Oven Pizzeria" experience as their name and website claim, but we didn't get it.
