Gorgeous Pine and Hemlock forest, easy walking trails with river views.

Vaughan Woods is one of my favorite places to walk. There are many different trails to take. Some of the trails bring you among the water. The trails are well defined and mostly cleared of debris. Adequate parking. There are no trash receptacles available. There are outdoor bathrooms, but they are not open year round.

Relaxed and quiet place to hike. Follows along the Salmon Falls River, and allows access to the Hamilton House.

Great place to trail walk. The trail gives us a deep forest experience however the trail is not rough, the path is almost flat and wide. It feels safe to walk in there. Hamilton house is closed due to coronavirus however you will love the garden around the house. It is so beautiful! Try once and you will know what I mean.

Yes! On a short leash
No it closes at sunset and opens at sunrise
No. They close the gate November 1st. Officially they are closed but you can still park in the parking lot near the entrance and walk in.
There are no designated swimming areas at this park.
No camping at this State Park. I used to work there. Old growth forest with no camping areas. Mostly hiking and picnics
No public camping at Vaughn Woods
There's a little donation bucket at the gate, I think it's a $5 donation suggestion
I have seen horses here, on the upper trails but not along the water
Yeah, no beach and it's thick mud close to the hiking paths for the first 30 ft or so. Can one swim in the salmon falls river? Physically, yes, should they... ... ...?
