Perfect place to unwind & relax! We heard loons calling & saw them. We rented kayaks & paddled down the glassy smooth river. Saw herons, an owl, & a beaver that slapped his tail several times. A moose had walked thru an hr before we arrived. Our lake front site was perfect for children, the water wasn't too deep. The bathrooms were clean. Locals were camping beside us & were the kindest, best "neighbors" ever! The dirt rds to get there were not an issue in a minivan. Would love to return to this place!

My boyfriend and I decided we were going to go on vacation and work our way from PA to ME. He wanted to camp along Moosehead Lake. So I started looking for places. I couldn’t find anything that was fitting for us. I looked at every possible campground and it just wasn’t what we wanted until I came across Seboomook Wilderness Campground. I never really showed him the pictures. LOL I just told him it was on the lake, just like he wanted. I made sure we had food before we got there, we’ll I thought I did.. we never got there until late and all the stores were closed. So I thought well, we’ll deal with it tomorrow. We were tired and it was 11 pm by now. We still had 30 miles to go. Well didn’t think it was gonna take us well over an hour to get there… but guess what? It was the best camping trip ever. We were right on the lake. So peaceful, heard Moose at night and also Loons. NO CELL SERVICE was awesome. The bathhouse was nice and clean and water was hot. We will definitely be back for a long trip next time… if you are looking for a place off the grid? This is the place… it was great

Seboomook Wilderness Campground Such a great place! Like the sign says, “We do not have WIFI - Talk to each other -pretend it’s 1995”. It’s a beautiful unspoiled location on the northern most shores of Moosehead Lake. It must be like Lake Winnepausakee was 75 years ago. The road in is a trip. Yes, It’s a 30 mile dirt road, but, with a little common sense it is easy to navigate. My 24’ Winnebago View handled it just fine. Once there, the campground and the store has everything you need. Many of the sites are on the shore of the lake and unlike other campgrounds, the sites are spacious and well separated. The views across the lake are spectacular. I look forward to returning next summer. Charlie and Angel Bridgewater, MA

No. The camp used to be a WWII German POW camp though and had an old hotel on it. You can sometimes find native American artifacts along the shore or in the shallow water.
