Nice little state park. A couple of things to mention though, our deck was nearly rotted away, the site was level and utilities worked fine. The bathroom experience varies, depended on how sloppy your fellow campers were, but overall there were ok. The pools were closed when we were there. There is a levy on property which was interesting to check out. Staff was friendly. We used it as a base for New Orleans, so close but far enough so you can rest in the quiet of the park, but you will hear airboats once in a while. We will consider coming back.
Crimson Sparrow
Green with a light smattering of bayou trees (though no real shade), it's a bummer that the campground suffers from significant neglect: Melted electrical outlets, hornets nests inside outlet boxes, dilapidated and dangerous wooden platforms in campgrounds (and that's not counting the sites that were closed for disrepair), and deteriorated parking areas with potholes. We pulled into 4 separate sites before finding one that was fully operational - not how anyone wants to end their day, especially in 96 degree heat with 96% humidity. We did not venture into the bathhouse (though there are no sewer hookups at the sites there is a dump station). Conclusion: Go stay at Fontainebleau State Park across the lake instead. There are plenty of shady spots with trees, it's cleaner and much better kept, with a nice beach.

Had a fantastic stay loved the park, took our bikes. Fantastic experience

The cabins are really awesome, just for the record.
Yes There Is A Swimming Pool I just left last week
We were right near one of the repeater ststions and it was just adequate. You are not going to stream without severe buffering.
They usually have trick or treats, and some sort if festival,on Halloween.
Did you try the one in boutte and there is one in desallmand right off of hwy 90. You can also hook up with one of the people in the back who have a fishing camp on the bayou
It is $3.00 per person. Persons 3 and under or 62 and older are free.
I stayed the weekend this weekend, did do some fishing but water was low and dirty. Did catch some channels and flathead, yellow cats.
Pools are open Memorial Day weekend to August 1 and closed Monday-Wednesday for maintenance, except for holiday Mondays. When pools are open on a holiday Monday, the pools will be closed for maintenance on the Tuesday-Thursday following the holiday Monday. From August 1 through Labor Day, pools will be open on modified schedules. Please check with the individual parks for specific days and hours of operation. All pool schedules are subject to change.
Champs great roads through the park perfect for riding a bike. And one of the most awesome places you will ever stay. Highly recommended.
There is swimming and it seems to be a swim at your own risk unsupervise. I find this preferable for myself
Sorry I am not for sure
There some there but if would like to bring your own do so
Yes! You can now reserve a pet-friendly cabin with a $40 surcharge per dog and a two dog limit. All dogs have to be kept on a leash while out in the park and are not allowed in the common buildings.
Coming from the West there is a sign on the westbank expressway that has a sign and turn left.
Rick, I think that may be an issue. We have a 36' class A and a toad and that was pushing it. They have some side by side campsites that technically look like a double wide as the pavement is continous between sites but I think you then would have to pay for two camping spots. Call them and maybe if they are not busy they will allow you to park your trailer in the spot next to your RV
For the summer of 2017, we spent 3 nights in the cabins for a total $420. Some of the best cabins I found in the state park system
No they do not
Yes they have a time limit
There is one for each section. I park by the boat launch and my restroom is across from the night box drop off
Yes seems very safe. We left our 5th wheel many days to explore downtown and the area.
Rules say 2 weeks but they will let you stay longer for special circumstances.
Yes you can, they have cabin rentals available as well.
Campsites are open now. Everyday.
Yea they're not around after 8 if I remember right. If you have a reservation at a campsite, just make your way in. If the main gate is closed there's another side maintenance entrance. It says authorized personnel only. If you have a reservation, you're good to continue through.
Reserve America is where you make reservations
$120/night from Oct. 1 through March 30 and $150/night on Fridays and Saturdays from April 1 through Sept. 30
Yes.
I don't thinks do but there are pools and a wave pool with a slide
There is a two-night minimum on the weekends (Friday and Saturday nights), but no minimum night stay Sunday through Thursday. If you want to take the chance on being a walk-in on the weekend, you can rent an available campsite for one night.
You might want to call the park and ask, as they would know better than anyone else.
I don't so, they actually close the park
I'd call the park, and ask the staff there. I don't they're under any burn bans at this time; but there are fire rings at each RV spot.
Yes, that information is actually on their webpage at www.LaStateParks.com, along with anything else you'd need to know about the park.
At this point, only the cabin area and the boat launch are closed. If you follow the park and/or Louisiana State Parks on Facebook, you'll have access to the latest info.
The cabins and boat launch closed yesterday, due to parish's closure of the flood wall. But, yeah, you should call the park or follow them and Louisiana State Parks on Facebook for the latest info.
Not sure buddy
Might want to call the park and ask that question. There's the $3 entrance fee, then the $13/adult, $10/child (under 4 ft.) fee to enter the wave pool area.
Yes.
Im pretty sure it will be open today!
It's off the first entrance to the right by the picnic area
Very pleasant, quiet stay. Would go back if in the area again
The cabins provide 8pc towel set one per person exchanged out every 3 days for clean or earlier at your tequest seets linens pillows are also provided The kitchen is fully stocked with almost everything needed. Including dish xetergent and dishwasher tablets toiket paper as well Nothing else Except hand soap in bathroom
Go to reserve america,. Or to bayou signette's web site. Louisiana offers a senior citizen discount and other discount. You need the senior pass or golden access pass available through national Park service.
boats passing in the canal. there on the water they move a little
Sure......golf carts are welcomed.....you can use it to go catch a few fish at the dock they provide for you. In the summer it would also come in handy to use it to commute back and forth from the wave pool!
On weekends for cabin's is $300.00 To get in park $3.00 per person for each day , free for military and senior citizens. Don't know about camp grounds. Give the park a call :)
Both places are great
Very affordable
They do have a WAVE pool but it has been a while since we have been. You should call for pricing.
Yes
Correct
Everything but 440 volts , 120/220.
My brother and I caught some catfish with shrimp.
For 3 people was $9 today 3 and under is free its $3 a person 4 years old and up
No they don't sell fire wood but you could buy some down the westbank expressway about 1 mile at the super market.
Nice park. We used it for it's proximity to New Orleans.
At the cabins, there u isn't really space. The cabins flat on the water and have bridge to get there from the road. As far as the campground, I'm not really sure were you'd get the water from, unless you unhook your rv and use the water hookups. They do have a wavepool and park tho!
Nope...its a state park not a residential travel trailer park. 2 week limit then ya gotta roll...
No. They seem to ride them illegally on the city streets though
I have no idea
