Sadly It was horrible but only one person made it that way 😞! Renae (if spelled correctly) as I ran into the lab @ 11:52 am the hospitality person insisted I use Kiosk so I ran later… she (Ranae) yelled from the back room how they should’ve turned me away, the other lab tech Andrea was sweet and professional so I stayed and gave my name to Ranae (although she kept her back to me and said “I’m gonna need her name “ then as she fiddled with the mouse she said very matter of factly “next time I’m going to pack up my things and leave!”

I had no choice but to go to the main Williamsport UPMC hospital after discovering the lab at Divine Providence was closed due to "staffing issues." I was horrified to find out that the Williamsport Hospital lab only had *one* person doing labs... And that there was a waiting list of 12 people ahead of me. I explained to the lady writing down names that I have *time sensitive* blood work that must be done 12 hours after the previous dose I took of my medication or else they won't be accurate. There is a roughly half-hour window either way that's fine, but she still didn't care. I have now been sitting here for half an hour (I arrived just after 8:30am) and the wait is down to four ahead of me still. I may make it in time for my labs to be accurate, but if it takes them another 25+ minutes I will be walking out and making arrangements to leave my work for a bit during the day sometime this week to get my tests done at Geisinger. These waits are unacceptable, especially in the case of *time sensitive* testing. Needless to say, I will no longer be dealing with UPMC going forward and all of my labs and testing will be done at Geisinger.

I can’t understand how such a beautiful new hospital addition was built, which includes one of a few labs in the Williamsport PA area, and every time I have to get bloodwork, doesn’t matter time or day, people are waiting for extended periods of time. The actual space is so small and they are never appropriately staffed. I was just now 1 of 9 waiting. When I finally got called, there was one person who just sat while another pulled my orders up on a computer. There were two dark lab draw rooms and it looked like just one room being used.

Have called more than 5 times in the past 2 weeks to speak to Christin Shriner the coordinated of the business lab and left 2 voicemails with no returned call. Impossible to reach. Apparently she is the only person I can speak with to get the code I need to provide to my insurance to verify coverage and at this rate I won’t be able to get the test done or I have to just risk getting it and it not being covered because i can only get the test done within a certain weekly gestation. Pretty disappointing and frustrating.
