Dirty sheets on floor tripping Hazard for visitors and patients

This facility changed management hands in the late summer of 2021, and from that moment on the quality of care diminished severely. Staffing that had been mainstays at the facility for 2-10 +years left with no explanation leaving temporary or agency staff to do the work without leadership. The original staff that remained were overworked, underpaid, and was just trying to get by. I reported a dead bird on the sidewalk during my Friday visit, the dead bird 5 feet from the front entrance was still there on the Sunday when I returned for a visit. I asked again for the bird to be removed. Management said things would get better, they did not. I would visit my loved one 2 to 3 times a week. There would be residents alone in the dining room with no staff to ring me in on at least 50% of my visits. I inquired why my loved one was not bathed at least once a week. Other residents were not showered and shaved and were in soiled clothes. I was told there was limited staffing to do such things. I was told the facility was hiring a new beautician, but in 6 months, that did not happen. Activities that were on the calendar were never carried out. Residents never left the facility on outings. Hot meals at dinner with previous ownership became cold sandwiches on white bread with pudding and processed soups. Residents had no access to fresh fruit, juices, or water during the day. I observed little interaction of staff with residents, always in their room. Temporary staff was on their phones, listening to music videos (saw this twice) and would ignore me or walk away when asking for help. My loved one's mental health declined and I am so thankful I found the support to relocate her to a new community. After I had given my notice, I was confronted by the new director as to why I was leaving in the Spring of 2022. The interactions felt like I was just a pay check to the facility and nothing more. I asked myself why does my loved one matter to you now that I am leaving?. Do your homework on every memory care facility and read department of health reports and talk to current family members with loved ones in the facility.

Jennifer was great. I just would not recommend this place for independent couples.
