Lots of problems with the pool they installed, but the people there were EXCELLENT about resolving every issue. I would use them again and I recommend them highly.

Went to island rec prepared to purchase a pool. We spent an entire Sunday afternoon with the sales team, learning about the options and upon the pressure of losing the sales price at 5pm placed a deposit. We advised the store we would be back the next day with a bank check for the balance. Next day, we return with the bank check. Before we returned to the store we arranged for a private delivery bc the store was backed up 2 weeks and for a quick install date so we could actually use the pool this season. When we get to the store we explain that we arranged for this and ask how soon we can pick up the pool bc our guy was available the next day. The cashier then asks the manager if she can ring the sale as cash and the manager comes over and is clearly nervous ... makes some fake phone calls and then announces to us that he cannot accept the bank check. He says that since we wrote in the invoice number on the check it is deemed an 'altered' check and their bank won't accept it. He offers no resolution, consolation or apology - but merely says, "I can't be on the hook for an x-thousand dollar purchase..." ... which indicates to me he for some reason believed my cashiers check tobe fraudulent and my business was not worth his time. He then left us standing at the register like idiots unable to complete our transaction. After several minutes of back and forth with the cashier, we asked for our deposit to be returned and walked out disgusted, embarrased and heartbroken. I didn't feel the need to prove that my money is green, but instead went to their competitor & got the same pool - for less money and more quickly than they could offer. Fellow consumers: Shop around and spend your money where you are respected! Over the next 50 years i won't even buy a pool noodle from them - and neither will my kids or anyone that will listen. Now I won't state why I think he thought I was the scam artist. I'll leave that to your senses. Update: Thank you for accusing me of bank fraud again... in your written, public response ... And for proving my point. Customer service has alot of room for improvement..
