Slow af and they take every last second they can. You call and get different answers. I shoulda qualified for emergency snap but bc my employer 6 months aftwr the fact, still had me on the rolls the automated system denied me. Promptly submitted my requested paperwork the next day and ive been waiting for 2 weeks now. They have 5 days left to deny or approve when as per state law it should have been 3 days. Takes almost 20 button presses just to get a human on the phone and the person is always just a clueless powerless customer service agent. There is no way to contact a case worker or agent at dhs. Broken and non functional beurecratic nightmare.

They are awful they did not fax none of my paperwork work what gave to them I was denied for benefit all that time I thought I was prove they did not fax no information to the state they mess me all up they are not nice people to me

To your landlord and then Code for that city and if that does not help go to Legal Aid and file a complaint with them to see if they can help you get the landlord to fix the problem or get out that lease.
You go apply online or go to the office and get an application.
Medicaid is the only insurance they provide. You may want to search for companies that give you quotes if you don't qualify for Medicaid.
Call Lonestar Circle of Care in Georgetown and they can help you and he may not have to pay a thing because they go by income. They have a sliding scale fee for people who are low income.
