We would really recommend this shelter for adoption. We got Arez (Rudy) there almost a month ago. He is amazing, and has been a great addition to the family. He is potty trained and very easy to train. Loves his toys and to run outside.

Questions & Answers

Does Alexander County not have a leash law? My neighbors VERY large dog ( think a sheep dog) is always in my yard like it is my dog? The dog is NOT tamed and comes charging at you as if it plans to jump on you... It runs around and around you.

They do not do the surgery at the shelter. You can go in and schedule it with either stony or Alexander animal hospital for $80 per animal under 60lbs. Note though that after the surgery they'll need pain medicine so plan on taking a little bit of money the day of surgery. The medicine my dog had was $11.50 for 5 days of pills.
